unique tracks tailored to
your experience! |
 |
 |
| There will be
three levels of instruction
at the Institute -
Beginning, Intermediate, and
Advanced. Each level will be
taught by former National
competitors in both
Lincoln-Douglas Value and
Team Policy Debate. |
 |
Novice...
Students with little or no
debate experience will learn
the basics of debate on both
the affirmative position and
the negative position. These
students will be introduced
to debate theory as well as
in-depth information on the
current resolution in either
Team Policy or
Lincoln-Douglas value
debate. They will receive
instruction in basic logic,
research, and writing an
affirmative case.
Additionally, they will
debate their case at the end
of the week. Novice students
are those who have debated
one season or less. |
 |
Intermediate...
Intermediate students
will be introduced to
additional debate theory,
will receive instruction in
advanced logic, and get a
head start on the current
resolutions. They will be
challenged with practical
debate skills that will be
used both inside and outside
the debate round. This tract
will include a more in depth
study of the new debate
resolutions (LD or policy).
Students will research,
write, and debate a case at
the end of the week.
Intermediate students are
those who have competed at
least one full season and
demonstrate a good
understanding of debate
theory and practice. |
 |
Advanced...
Advanced students will be
introduced to advanced
debate theory, will receive
instruction in advanced
logic, analyze the
importance of using debate
in the real world and get a
head start on the current
resolutions. They will be
challenged with practical
debate skills that will be
used both inside and outside
the debate round. This tract
will include in depth study
of the new debate
resolutions (LD or policy).
Students will research,
write, and debate cases in
critique rounds at the end
of the week. Advanced
students are those who have
at least two years of
experience and have competed
at the national level. |
